The time-span of your jewelry depends on your own body chemistry, how often you wear it, your activities while wearing the jewelry and on how you take care of it. To maintain your jewelry’s life, please keep away from extreme humidity, sweat or any corrosive chemicals (mostly seen in beauty products such as hairspray, perfume, soaps, oils, lotions, etc.,) which may damage the plating and cause them to fade. If in case it gets in contact with these, immediately wipe after. Also avoid wearing plated jewelry during any activities whereyou may scratch or rub them against rough surfaces. Store your pieces in a sealed plastic bag or airtight box when not in use to keep out the air that causes oxidation. To clean your piece, just wipe with a soft cotton cloth and warm water. A small drop of liquid soap can be used, but avoid using jewelry cloths with chemicals.
Brass & Copper
(used in our gold tone and rose gold tone bangles)
Over time, copper and brass jewelry will darken and take on a patina of its own. This gives it an antique, vintage look that most people like. If you want to make it lighter again, you can use the small polishing cloth we include or purchase a metal polish which you can find at any hardware store. But our favorite way of cleaning is by rubbing ketchup (tomato) over the brass / copper jewelry. Not only is it cheap and effective, but it's also organic. The acid from the tomatoes should be strong enough to dissolve the tarnish but too weak to damage the metal.
